Dear Parents
The Advent fair run by the CSA on Sunday was an excellent event as usual. I would like to thank the CSA for all their hard work and preparation. The Fair raised £1465 which is brilliant, thank you all for your support, once again.
Nativity
The staff and children are busily preparing for the Nativity and we hope that you will be able to join us on Wednesday 17th December at 2 pm in the church. Following the Nativity, the CSA will be serving refreshments in the school hall.
The dress rehearsal will be on Tuesday 16th December at 1.45pm. You are welcome to come on this date if you would prefer, however please be aware that this is our opportunity for a final practise.
Beaulieu
On behalf of all the Staff and Governors we would like to wish all the children in Class 4 a fantastic time at Beaulieu this week and I would like to thank all the staff attending for their hard work and dedication to enable this exciting residential visit to take place.
Curriculum Enrichment
The children have continued to enjoy a range of curriculum enrichment activities on a Wednesday. This term Team Elite, have been coming into school to improve rugby skills with Classes 3 and 4, and to organise team games for Classes 1 and 2. Class 4 children have also been busy making Christmas crafts as an enterprise project for the Business and Enterprise ‘Christmas Cracker’ Fair to be held at Kings’ School. All classes continue to enjoy their weekly music lesson with Mr. Chapman. There will be something new to look forward to, starting with Key stage 2 in the second half of next term, as we will have a judo coach coming to work with the children.
Penny Pot
Just a reminder that the penny pot is located by the reception entrance. Any donations of pennies are gratefully received. We have emptied the penny pot recently and would like to thank you for raising over £70. The money raised is used to help support Christopher and Achaya attend school in India and makes a real difference to their lives.
Business and Enterprise ‘Christmas Cracker’ Event at Kings’
Please see the accompanying leaflet regarding this event to be held at Kings School on Thursday 4th December. Our year 5 and 6 children will be selling their beautiful Christmas decorations. Please come along and support them if you can.
Reminder- Zambia orphanage appeal
In each classroom there is a Zambia appeal box where small stationery items and new/nearly new underwear can be placed for Conall, Ciara and Orla Bark’s Auntie Helen to take to donate to orphanages in Lusaka, Zambia. Further details of items to include were sent out in a letter last week. The deadline for any donations is Tuesday 9th December.
Sickness Illnesses
As you are probably aware there is a nasty sickness bug at the moment which has affected a number of children in school. Please can we ask that you follow the Health Guidance for Schools. ‘Sufferers of diarrhoea and/or sickness should not return to school until at least 24 hours after the systems have settled down. Smaller children and older children who’s hand washing skills may not be very good may need to be off school an extra day or two until there is no risk of spreading the problem’.
